The Tennis Coach Ireland National Conference will take place this year on Sunday 25th September at Dublin City University (DCU). We are very excited about this years Conference, which we are convinced will be a day no coach can afford to miss. Coaches who are qualified through all recognized coach training systems are welcome to attend, even if they are not members of TCI. We are always especially pleased to welcome delegates from abroad.


MORNING SESSIONS: will take place at the School of Nursing Building. Speakers include (among others)

Dave Miley (recently retired as Executive Director of Development at the ITF) on the future of tennis and vital skills for coaches.

David Wilson (ITF iCoach Expert) will give us ‘Ten strategies for making your coaching better and your life easier’.

Robert Cherry (ITF iCoach Expert) will speak on how and why you as a coach can leverage social media and the Internet to your advantage.

David O’Connell will inform us about how a coach can care for his or her own body, given the wear and tear we experience every coaching day.

AFTERNOON SESSIONS: Following lunch (included in your Conference fee), the action switches to on court at the National Tennis Centre.

Kris Soutar, our very popular main speaker a couple of years ago, returns to present three practical sessions on developing skills through both drills and match play scenarios. Kris’s programmes have developed British Champions and number one ranked players in three age groups. Many of his players have gone on to achieve success internationally at junior and senior levels. He is an LTA Master Performance Coach, and has worked with Louis Cayer on resource development for the Master Performance Course. Kris also helps develop ‘Set4Sport’ with Judy Murray.
